Eastside is a Cleveland Heights Youth Hockey Association and Cleveland Skating Club partnership founded in 2016, boasting multiple sheets of ice at convenient times. All skaters receive weekly skating instruction from Tim Okicki (Okicki Hockey) and supplemental power skating from Chip Rossbach (Former Tiger and USFS National Team Member). Goalkeepers receive a weekly session with Damian Rhodes (former 9 year NHL goaltender). We are longtime members of the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL) and regularly compete for league championships in all divisions.
This program is for boys and girls 5-14 years old who have completed at least one session of Learn-to-Play. Skaters should be able to turn, stop and skate backwards a bit.
10U-14U Tryouts are held in April. Practices begin the week of Labor Day and the league season ends with playoff finals the first week in March.
Practices and home games will be played at the Cleveland Heights Community Center and Cleveland Skating Club. Games may be played across northeast Ohio.
Teams practice for one hour 2-3 times per week, starting between 5:45 and 8:45pm. Younger age groups generally practice at earlier times.
Teams will play 16-22 league games (including preseason). Games usually fall on the weekends. 8U ADM/Mites play half-ice games. ADM Blue Teams (reserved for beginning players) play an abbreviated 8-10 game season starting in December. Your team may also vote to participate in tournaments to pick up additional games.
8U ADM/Mite players receive home and away jerseys and hockey socks for free. 10U-14U players must purchase our club jerseys. Fittings occur at the rink in September.

Incoming players who missed spring team placements and all 8U skaters will be evaluated during practice in the fall.
